John Oliver Called Joe Rogan “A Fucking Moron” For Spreading COVID-19 Misinformation

John Oliver has spared no feelings on Joe Rogan, calling the podcast host “a fucking moron” for spreading COVID-19 misinformation on his hugely successful podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience.

Last month, on the podcast, Rogan caused up huge controversy when giving his thoughts on who should be getting the COVID-19 vaccine.

“If you’re like 21 years old, and you say to me, ‘Should I get vaccinated?’ I’ll go no,” Rogan said.

“If you’re a healthy person, and you’re exercising all the time, and you’re young, and you’re eating well, like, I don’t think you need to worry about this.”

“We’re talking about something that is not statistically dangerous for children,” he continued.

“But yet people still want you to get your child vaccinated, which is crazy to me.”

Oliver subsequently went in on Rogan on the latest episode of Last Week Tonight, saying “Stop listening to what Joe Rogan tells you, he’s a ‘fucking moron’.”

“If you’re thinking, ‘Yeah, I’m not sure I’ll need it. Joe Rogan says I’m probably fine’. It is true: You might not get seriously sick from Covid – or indeed sick at all – but you could still inadvertently pass it to someone who could then die,” he said.

“And before you say, ‘Well, vulnerable people should just get vaccinated then,’ the vaccines are only 95 per cent effective…so they’ll probably be ok, but maybe not.

“Also, the more the virus circulates, the likelier we’ll see mutations that make it more dangerous, possibly helping it to evade the vaccine completely, putting us all the way back to square one, so get the fucking vaccine!”

In fairness to Oliver, calling Rogan a “fucking moron” was merely quoting something Rogan said himself.

“I’m not a doctor, I’m a fucking moron,” Rogan said in a later episode of The Joe Rogan Experience following the controversy.

“I’m a cage-fighting commentator who’s a dirty stand-up comedian. I’m not a respected source of information, even for me.”

“I am not an anti-vax person. In fact, I said I believe they are safe and I encourage many people to take them,” he went on to say.

“I just said if you’re a young healthy person, you don’t need it. Their argument was you need it for other people…And yes, that makes sense.”
